Welcome to the conclusion are of Lower Decks. This Anthology arc might remind you of the last “Greatest Hits” arc, Absolution (Arc 29) from April of last year. So you’ll see not only content from Lower Decks, but also TOS, TNG, and Discovery. You’ll see two new LD officers, but also be able to pick up officers from previous arcs you might have missed.

There are also a couple of new refits, a new prime research, some new mining ships that you might get in 2024, and quite possibly the nerdiest event in the history of the game (that I’m looking forward to a lot.)

New Officers

tendi and rutherford are new in Absolution

So this month we’ve got two more Lower Decks officers, Tendi and Rutherford. Like the three we got last month, these two will be useful to you down the line, and there’s a tradeoff between below decks stats and the bonuses they provide.

Rutherford gives you a total shield health bonus, and Tendi gives you a bonus to your hull health. Again, these are great things to have, but on ships with limited below decks slots, you’ll have to decide if these bonuses outweigh the loss of officer stats.

Tendi will be available this month if you complete every solo milestone event this month. You’ll also get the avatar. There will be some purchase options to make up if you miss an event.

New Refits

This month, there are refits for the D’Vor Feesha and the Discovery.

feesha scavenger

The Feesha Refit is called the “Salvager” and while it doesn’t do anything for the ship itself, it gives you a refinery bonus, and a choice. So you’ll get a bonus to the Feehsa parts you get from the Concentrated Latinum Refinery by 100%. But then you’ll have an option of trading in some or all of those newly refined parts for G4 or G5 ship parts (depending on the tier of your Feesha.) And these aren’t just survey parts but can be interceptor, explorer or battleship parts.

section 31 discovery

The Disco refit is the “Section 31 Discovery.” Again, it doesn’t do anything for the ship itself, but it does increase the number of officer shards you’ll get from opening a Discovery recruit chest from 12 to 18. And as an added bonus, you’ll also get Lorca added to the pool of available officers in that chest.

New Syndicate Prime Research

The one new prime node this month will double the amount of Syndicate XP you get in your daily Syndicate chest.

The new refits and the Syndicate Prime research are only available for purchase this month, but I’m told they’ll be other ways to get them in the future.

Lots of Missions from Anthology

I could be wrong, but this month might have the most new missions of any arc in the past two years or so.

So in addition to some Lower Decks missions, of which there are 10, you’ll also get two TOS mission chains, five more Discovery missions, and 10 more TNG missions.

These aren’t in story arcs, but more in the form of self-contained episodes.

The Lower Decks missions will be sourced through the free Battle Pass.

The Discovery, TNG, and TOS missions will be sourced on the theme weeks. Each of these weeks will have a server milestone that will award the missions. More about the theme weeks almost immediately.

Event Theme Weeks

Week One of the Arc will be TNG, week two will be Discovery, and TOS will be week three. Events from previous arcs will be back, in addition to a few new ones.

You’ll also see events that source full unlocks of TNG, Discovery, and TOS officers.

Avatars and Frames

Not quite as good as last month, but still not terrible, we’ve got Tendi, Rutherford, Dr. T’Ana, Lieutenant Shaxs, Peanut Hamper, as well as Tendi’s dog.

Also, there will be some avatars from TNG, Disco, and TOS that will become available this month as rewards in events.

Grade 5 Faction Miners

Okay, for nearly every player in the game, this is one that isn’t going to be relevant to you for a couple of years, but someday, in the future, you can look back on May of 2022 as the day that the Klingon Mow’Ga, Romulan Vrax, and the Federation USS Beatty were introduced to the game.

Just for reference, they start off by giving a bonus of 420% to their corresponding material, and this maxes out at 960% at level 60. By comparison, the G3 faction miners start out at 70%, and the G4s start out at 120%.

So know that these exist, and you may start to see them flying around the galaxy at some point. But you need to be level 58 to get them.

As an aside, the actor who played Ben in the TNG episode Lower Decks was Bruce Beatty. It would be great if this was the namesake of the ship, and it would be a tie-in with the Lower Decks arc.

Bruce Beatty, as Ben in the original Lower Decks

Either that, or for the late, great Ned Beatty.

Event Store

There will be an event store this month. And who doesn’t like an event store?

Event Hints

If I were you I’d make sure that I…

  • Had plenty of Away Teams speed ups
  • Irvinite for your Cerritos
  • Maxed my Discovery
  • Was at least at ops level 20 by the end of Day One of the arc.
  • There may be a Syndicate XP event, so plan accordingly.

And also,

And stay tuned later today, as I’ll be launching my Battlepass contest.
