Good morning. Lots of new stuff this month. Three new officers, renamed officers, second repair, new research, a PvP daily goal, and Federation cloaking.

That, and there’s going to be a massive alliance Territory Capture event.

Territory Capture Update

All of the higher Tier 3 services will have their stats increased, and those will be scaled higher for higher-level players. So good for everyone, and those bonuses will increase as you level up.

There will be some new T3 services, including buffs for damage, hull hit points, shield hit points, officer stats, repair costs, and mining speed.

But wait, there’s more, six T3 systems will have their old buffs swapped out for new ones.

Keep in mind that this won’t happen until your services need to be renewed, usually on the weekend.

Second Repair

So in the spirit of the second builder and second researcher, now we get a second repair slot. There are some PvP events coming up, and a big Territory Capture event coming, so this could be very useful to you. I know I’ve got almost 10,000 half-hour repair speed ups banked right now, but a TC event could use those up faster than I’d like.

It’ll be available for purchase, much as the second builder and researcher slots were.

Cloaking Research

After cloaking was introduced last month, now we’ve got research to make your cloaks even better. There are seven new nodes.

  • Armada Mitigation While Cloaked
  • Cloaking duration for Romulan Ships
  • Cloaking duration for Klingon Ships
  • Cloaking duration for all ships
  • HHP
  • SHP
  • Critical Damage While Cloaked

These researches will take a new currency to unlock. I know, you’re shocked by this. It’s called “Tetryon Radiation,” and you’ll get it from completing your new daily cloaking goal. You’ll also be able to purchase some if you just can’t wait to get started.

The HHP and SHP will benefit all of your ships, regardless of cloaking status.

The Klingon and Romulan cloaking technologies will require you to have certain reputation levels to unlock.

New Prime Researches

We’ve also got three new prime researches.

  • Prime Officer Stats (available at level 32)
  • Prime PvP Damage While Cloaked (available at level 30)
  • 2x Tetryon Radiation Payout (available at level 26)

If you were looking for a reason to get the Elite Battlepass this month, here’s another one. Doing so will get you the 2x Tetryon Radion research.

New Daily Goals

This month, you’ll have two new daily goals. Both of them are cloaking-related. They’ll reward you with Tetryon Radiation once you’ve completed them.

Probably the most interesting thing about them is that you’ll be able to complete them by defeating either hostiles or players.

At last, Romulan TNG Officers

After seeing the Discovery arc, come and go with no non-Federation canon officers come at all, finally, we’ve got some. They’re two Romulans, Sela and Tomalak.

Sela is an epic officer who’ll give you a 50% bonus to your critical hit damage when cloaked, and reduce your enemy’s chance of dealing you a critical hit in PvP. Sort of like an anti-Khan.

Sela shards will be available through the elite battle pass, a solo leaderboard event, solo milestone events, missions, and an alliance leaderboard event.

Tomalak increases your penetration stats while cloaked. (Insert your own joke here) He also increases damage against Klingon targets, filling a gap in the game for a second anti-Klingon officer that’s been here for a couple of years.

He’s a rare officer, and you’ll be able to get Tomalak shards through solo milestone events, alliance leaderboard events, the battle pass, and through in-app purchase.

Borg Officers Now Go Up to Eleven

So we’ve got a new Borg Officer, Borg Barot, and since we had a full group of ten “of Ten” officers before, now they go up to eleven.

Part of me thinks it would’ve been fun to have Borg Barot be Eleven of Ten. Sort of the way the Big Ten Conference stayed the Big Ten even though they added an eleventh school in 1990, and then just made a joke of the name when they added three more teams in the 2010s.

But the Borg aren’t really known for their sense of fun, so now it’s a group of eleven, and he’s Eleven of Eleven.

This new officer isn’t flashy by any means. He just gives you a bonus when mining crystal, and you’ll now have synergy with the Borg Tribble. His officer ability will give you a warp speed bonus.

You’ll acquire this epic officer through the Elite Battlepass, in-app purchases, solo milestone events, and in a special epic borg miner recruit chest.

More Cloaks

The roster of ships that can cloak is getting a bit bigger this month. For most players, you’ll see the Enterprise gets a cloak this month. It’s only available for purchase, and you’ll need to complete a mission line in order to make it available for purchase. Level 50 players will also be able to unlock a cloak for their Enterprise-A.

The Covrus and Vor’Cha will also get cloaking devices this month. So if you’re level 53, this is your lucky month.

Nova Refits

The G5 Miner, the Nova, that was released last month gets handy-dandy refits this month. These will be available in the faction store for each faction. The Federation refit will give you a bonus in mining gas, the Romulans ore and the Klingons crystal. So it becomes whatever faction miner you want it to be.

Contest Later Today

I’ll be doing another Elite Battle Pass Quiz later today. It’ll launch today before noon, Eastern time, and run through tomorrow.

Plug for a thing that will make your life better…

This month for me has been absolutely nuts, with my daughter in two dance classes, my son playing soccer three days a week, both kids in Scouts, my Rotary meetings, work, writing, etc, etc, etc.

But this month I got a new toy, that has made one thing in my life much, much easier. I’ve had a leaf vac for a few years, but the one thing that sucked (sorry) about it was that the bag was so small I had to keep emptying the damn thing every five minutes.

This year I got this collection system, (see below) that lets you put leaves in a trash can, and has saved me a lot of time. My leaves are done, mulched, and away. And the wife is happy.
