Faction hunt is my favorite event. It’s got a great payout, it’s active, and it’s a nice change of pace from the mining and scanning of Latinum Rush. This one’s pretty simple. Find ships, and blow them up real good.
The Three Faction Hunts
So you’ll have three of these scoreboards; one for each faction. You’ll get points for destroying ships from the various factions, the higher the level of the ship you hit, the more points you’ll get. You’ll also get points for tiering up your faction ships. The higher your ops level, the more points it will take for each level, and the greater your rewards will be.
The rewards are fantastic.
Each faction event will pay out refined materials (ore for the Romulans, gas for the Federation, and crystal for the Klingons.) You’ll also get recruiting tokens, officer XP, faction reputation points, and most importantly, Faction Credits.
This is what separates this event from Crucible of War and Battle for Glory. They both payout well in terms of materials, but nothing when it comes to Faction Credits.
If you’re working on a Faction ship and frustrated by the high number of days you’ve got left until you can build it when you’re looking at my Blueprint Calculator, then this is the event for you. This is going to take time off that number.
The one nice change in this event is that you no longer have to opt-in to the three events, as this would often result in people not getting credit for ships they’d destroyed if they’d forgotten to opt-in.
Managing Your Reputation During Faction Hunt
If you’re grinding up a faction rep during the Faction Hunt event, you’ll want to be careful not to wreck all your hard work. The best way to do this is to focus on lower level ships, and stay away from survey ships of the Faction you’re trying to improve.
The Alliance Faction Leaderboard
It’s really handy to be able to tier up a Faction ship in this competition, as they give you far more points here than they do in the solo events. Tiering up the Saladin that I grounded out while trying to lock my Romulan rep is going to be really, really helpful here. Note that you don’t actually get the points until you complete the tiering up, so you’re probably going to have to spend some speed-ups.
The key to this event is getting everyone in your alliance to meet their goals for all three factions, and to get a good number of faction ships leveled up.
The rewards for the Alliance events are Alliance credits and Ultra Recruiting tokens for everyone, and a varying number of uncommon ore and crystal, and rare ore and gas, depending on your level.
