The last few quizzes have come from Richard Osman’s House of Games, and we’ve played Answer Smash. This month we’re playing Mouse of Games again.
In this game, you get a short description of a Star Trek episode (or series), which has had one letter from its original title changed. The players have to give the answer to the description of the changed title for a point.
You can see an example of the round here. Players in the UK probably won’t be able to view this, but they’ve probably seen it already.
The bonus questions are my little tribute to Gilbert Gottfried, one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time, who passed away last month. If you haven’t checked out his podcast, Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast, you owe it to yourself to do so. It’s a gold mine for fans of classic entertainment. It was the podcast that I looked forward to every week.
Also, the Gilbert Gottfried Documentary that came out in 2017 is amazing. It’s hilarious, while at times being deeply moving. Rather than just looking at Gilbert the comedian, it looks at the shy introvert who became a great husband and father.
The answers to the first two bonus questions come from these old appearances on the 80s Letterman show.
So the original film was Mad Max, but change on letter, to Sad Max, and you change the plot of the film. And that’s the clue – “In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Mel Gibson’s character is feeling melancholy.”

Nice man, and he’s sadly missed.
