Mirror Universe Captain Sylvia Tilly is a rare engineering officer in the new Terran Empire crew. She’s got some of the best nicknames in the Star Trek universe,  “The Slayer of Sorna Prime“, “The Witch of Wurna Minor“, and “Captain Killy”.

Keep in mind that she’s not a Federation officer, so you’ll need independent credits to upgrade her.

Captain’s Maneuver

When attacking a capture node, If your opponent has a hull breach she increases piercing by 50% of your attack stats (cumulative).

So this ability will only work while attacking a Territory Capture node, which does make it an extremely limited ability. Once you’ve taken the node, the ability does nothing at all for defense.

However, when combined with the Sarcophagus, this does seem like it will be an impressive ability.

Officer Ability

Sadistic: If opponent has hull breach increase mitigation by 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100% of Health (cumulative).

Of the three new officers released in patch 25, she’s the only one with an ability that’s not strictly Territory capture related.

So as her captain’s maneuver is offensive, her officer ability is defensive. The unusual thing here is that she’s the only officer who has two stat dependent abilities – and they depend on different stats. For her captain’s maneuver, you’ll need attack, and for her officer ability, it’s health.

In order for this to work, you’ll need to combine her with an officer who activates hull breach. Captain Lorca is one, Gorkon and Azetbur are a couple of others. As we saw great battleship officers in the last couple of Discovery updates, Mirror Tilly will be great on your Interceptors. If you’re a player who features a D4, she has the potential to slide into your rotation – especially at higher tiers.

Mirror Captain Tilly Trivia

Other than Barot, she’s the only canon officer in Star Trek Fleet Command who never actually appeared onscreen. We see prime universe Tilly pretending to be her, but we never actually see her.

She was portrayed in pictures by Mary Wiseman, who I covered in the prime universe Tilly article.

And I do need to admit, that even though I’m not the biggest Discovery fan, that I really, really like Mary Wiseman’s performances. She’s the most relatable of any of the characters, and Wiseman gives a real unique depth to a show in which most of the characters seem interchangeable.
