The character of Phillippa Georgiou is one of the more enigmatic on Star Trek: Discovery, and now, the officer Georgiou in STFC is similarly interesting. She’s an epic command officer in the Discovery crew.
I think if you gave me a thousand guesses, I wouldn’t have thought she’d be a Federation officer that sets off burning, but here we are. And, as someone whose biggest ship is an Augur, I’m more than a little excited by this.
And lastly, for the record, this is the prime universe Georgiou, not her mirror universe counterpart.
The Captain’s Maneuver of Phillippa Georgiou
Never Fire First: At the beginning of each round, while the enemy is Burning, reduce the enemy’s Officer Attack of all officers by 100%.
As with the rest of the Discovery crew, it’s all about reducing the damage your enemy causes you. Synergy will all you to get this ability up to 150%.
Officer Ability
Deceptive Warfare: At the beginning of each round, Georgiou has a (50%, 60%, 70%, 75%, 80%) chance to cause Burning to the enemy for 2 rounds.
Again, I can’t wait to put Phillippa Georgiou on my Augur, and try some PvP, and let her set off the Obliterator. She’ll also be an interesting officer to try with a number of your Romulan Officers (Kumak, Vemet, etc.) whose abilities are contingent on burning.
She’ll pair very well with the new Paul Stamets officer, and his ability to reduce your enemy’s armor-piercing when you’re running on a battleship.
Michelle Yeoh Background
Actress Michelle Yeoh Actress Michelle Yeoh (full name: Michelle Yeoh Choo-Kheng) was born in Ipoh, Malaysia in 1962, to a Malaysian Chinese family.
When she was 15 years old, her family moved to London, and she majored in ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance.
A spinal injury prevented her from pursuing a career in ballet, so she switched her focus to drama.
At 20 years old, she won her first beauty pageant, becoming Miss Malaysia . She was Malaysia’s representative at the Miss World 1983 pageant in London.
From there, she started appearing in television commercials.
This got her noticed by Jackie Chan, who started using her in his films.
She started working in martial arts films, and notably, did most of her own stunts. By 1985, she’d already been cast the lead in a film called, Yes, Madam. She starred in a number of films in Hong Kong, before getting the attention of Hollywood.
That break came in 1997, when she was memorably cast in the James Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies, opposite Pierce Brosnan. I’ll say nothing about the movie’s ridiculous plot, about TV broadcast rights in China for 100 years. Yeoh was very good in the film.
From there, she went on to star in the hit, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Her character’s dialogue was in Mandarin, a language she did not speak. So she learned her lines phonetically. And got a BAFTA nomination for her efforts.
Other films include Memoirs of a Geisha, Reign of Assassins, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny and The Lady .
In 2018, she starred in Crazy Rich Asians.
And lastly, Rotten Tomatoes once ranked her as the Greatest Action Heroine of all-time, and People Magazine listed her as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.
