The Discovery Arc 2 events are here, labeled “Call of the Empire.” The Klingons from Discovery are here. As usual, we’ve got a new arc, but there are a lot of changes from the way these have been done in the past. There’s more PvP. More rewards, and an altered Battle Pass.
Battle Pass Changes
So this there’s a big change to this month’s Battle Pass. You might not notice it at first, but it’s there. The free rewards are a lot bigger. Like 250% bigger.
On the other hand, you’re not going to be getting resource and material rewards for doing your daily Battle Pass events. So the Separatist Hunt (see below) is only giving Battle Pass points.
Those rewards have now been rolled up into the Free Battle Pass rewards – however, that said, there’s still an increase in the amount of stuff you’ll be getting.
The Elite Battle Pass (the one you buy) is also getting an increase,
The other thing you’ll notice is that the amount of points you’ll need per level has gone down. The idea is that you’ll be able to skip some events if you choose, and still get all of the rewards.
By the way, if you’re a new player, you should note that the Battle Pass is limited to players level 10+. However, if you’re below that level right now, and you get there in the next three weeks, you’ll be entered, and get a free 40,000 points to help you advance.
Narrower Bands in Discovery Arc 2 Events
One big improvement for this arc’s events is the banding. It’s much narrower. You should only be competing with people one or two ops levels above or below you. You might also notice that the number of players getting rewards in the leaderboard events is now at 50.
Separatist Hunt
Also, battle triangle hint. If you’re going after the big Separatist bosses, you’ll find explorers in Federation space, interceptors in Klingon space, and battleships in Roumulan space.
It’s straightforward, you’ll get one point for each point of damage done to hostiles levels 1-16, and 3 points for each point of damage done to hostile elites (level 17) and hostile bosses (level 22.)
So get your Pike crew ready, and get out to destroy as many of these hostiles as you can. This event will only give you battle pass points.
Rescue Discovery Officers
Doing damage to any hostiles will give you points in this leaderboard event, that pays out Paul Stamets shards, Discovery Recruit tokens, minor commendations (to eventually get officer badges) and some cultivated mycelium.
All the damage you do in the Separatist hunt will count for this event, but you’ll probably need alot more to rank higher.
My suggestion, from a strategic point of view is to leave Separatist space and head elsewhere once you’ve met all your milestones for the hunt, just to cut down on the competition if it’s a little crowded.
But Who’s Counting?
Here’s a really fun one (that, by the way, I’ve already finished.) Make your way to one of the selected systems (this time it’s Pandosia, Blys or Aletara) with your Discovery, and blow up other players’ Discoveries real good. The event pays out spore drive components.
So I’m going to stop the article for a minute, to bring you an SCTV reference.
Okay, back to the event.
You’ll get 3 points for winning a combat with your Discovery in one of the event systems, and one point for a loss.
You’ll get five bonus points for using Harry Mudd (Disco Mudd) as captain.
Also, you’ll get three bonus points for using original Mudd, Michael Burnham, Pike or Georgiou as captain.
Additionally, you’ll get two points for Stamets, Saru, Tilly, or rare Spock at the helm, and one point for Origins Saru, Origins Stamets, or Origins Burnham.
The leaderboard version of this event pays out spore drive components, armada directives, ore, and parsteel. The amounts will vary by level.
Other events
There’s also a Remain Klingon event. It’s the standard, “Do the missions, get some rewards” event.
There’s also a Recruit Phillipa Georgiou event, which is just an auction event.
More Discovery Arc 2 Events To Come
There are also a number of burst events coming, and another other events coming, and I’ll cover those as they come out.
