So this month there’s a lot of new stuff. While we don’t have the release of Deep Space Nine, we do get three new Ferengi officers, including the much-anticipated Quark. There’s a new dock, a new station attack research, and a very, very shiny new ship.

A New Dock!

new dock

So it likely won’t be unlocked until the weekend, but a new drydock will be available for players level 30+. The catch is that only going to be available by in-app purchase. But it doesn’t look like it’s going to be too expensive.

Please note that there is no corresponding new defense platform to go with it.

With the explosion of different things to do, new ships, and officers to the game in the last year-plus, this will be a nice feature to have.

It’ll also allow you to use the building to complete dailies, and rack up the speedups.

New Stuff To Mine! Latinum Concentrate

In the beginning, latinum could be won in events, or for opening daily chests. A great deal of it came from in-app purchases. And then one day, you could mine and refine raw latinum. And that was nice. And then the speeds got to the point where you’d mined enough so that you feasibly never had to mine raw latinum ever again.

We’ve come to the point where it’s like another daily chest to claim, for me, anyway. I’ve got about 250 million in raw latinum stored up, and I’ll likely never be able to refine it all. I just get my D’Vor parts and my 1500 latinum a day.

rules of acquisition concentrated latinum

But this month we get concentrated latinum. They’ll be located in new dedicated systems this month.

My first thought is that this sounds an awful lot like concentrated orange juice. The cardboard cans that mom would bring home in the 80s, and you’d open the can, and dump the contents into a pitcher. You’d then pour a certain number of can-fuls of water into the pitcher, stir it up (with a wooden spoon, obviously), and get something that kinda tasted like orange juice.

Then I wander over to the end of Trading Places, where FCOG – Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice futures trading is the crux of the movie. (Bonus points if you can spot the late Richard Hunt, the voice of Scooter on the trading floor here. Once you see him, you can never unsee him.)

Sorry. The tangents are over. (For now)

Back to concentrated latinum.

Yes, it’s one more thing to mine. And another thing to refine. But latinum is a good thing, and you’ll get another latinum refinery in addition to the one you already have.

new refinery

The Concentrated Latinum Refinery will give you Latinum and D’Vor Feesha parts.

Upgrading your Feesha will improve the results of your Concentrated Latinum Refinery. Here you can see what you’ll get at tier 2.

The Latinum rewards increase quite a bit as you upgrade your ship. By tier 5, it’ll get you 3,500 latinum per day. At tier 12, it pays out 20,000 latinum every day.

The D’Vor Feesha- A Shiny New Ship to Mine that New Stuff With

d'vor feesha

So here it is. Not the best kept secret in the game, but here it is. It’s a shiny new upgraded D’Vor. Or Piggy as I’ve always thought of them.

While there’s no ship, “Feesha” in any Star Trek canon, the word Feesha comes from the script of the Enterprise episode Acquisition“. It’s from the sentence “Feesha vou dole!” which translates to “We hit the jackpot.”

This ship will only be a concentrated latinum miner, as it will offer you no bonus to mining regular raw latinum whatsoever. So it would be a good idea to keep an old D’Vor or two around for mining raw lat.

Speaking of your old D’Vor, it’s scrapping your level 41 or higher D’Vor that will get you the blueprints for your D’Vor Feesha. This is why Scopely told you to have your scrapyard clear for the new arc.

And in case you’re curious, the base scrap time for that D’Vor will be about 1 day, 15 hours, and obviously, your scrapyard level and research will reduce this.

I’m working on a full article on the Feesha, and I’ll link it here once I’ve completed it.

Quark is here!

new officers quark

So a new month, and new officers. This month, we’ve got three Ferengi officers. Say that three times fast.

On the plus side, it’s great to have Quark in the game, and as disappointed as I was with the Martok art, I think the Quark depiction is perfect.

On the downside, the two non-canon offerings in Fess and Arrock are disappointing, especially when you could have easily thrown in any number of great Ferengi characters. How much better would it have been to have Nog, Rom, Zek, Brunt, or any of the TNG Ferengi in the game? Honestly, when and if we ever get Nog in the game, I’m going to embarrass myself gushing over the writing and performance of that character.

Anyway, back to the game as it is now.

Quark will give you a base 90% increase to your protected cargo, and an increase to your mining speed that’s almost as good as the Borg Tribble’s. Quark shards will be unlocked through a combination of solo milestone events, materials spend events, an armada event (I know, you’re groaning), and with a purchase of the elite Battle Pass.

Fess’s captain’s maneuver will give you a base increase to your mining speed, BUT… his officer ability will actually REDUCE your protected cargo. You’ll be able to get a full unlock of Fess with the Elite Battle Pass.

Arrock is your concentrated latinum officer. His captain’s maneuver will give you a 6500% boost to your mining speed of the new stuff. His officer ability will give you an additional mining speed bonus for everything. Arrock shards will be available in the Battle Pass and from event rewards. They’ll also be available for in-app purchase.

You’ll want Arrock on your D’Vor Feesha.

That’s right, you’ll wanna rock!

I’m so sorry. We took the kids last year to Santa’s Village in New Hampshire. When my son and I were on the Ferris Wheel, each of the cars had the warning on them, “Do Not Rock.” While we were waiting to get off the rid, I told him about the song, and sang “I wanna rock!”, and then had him respond with “Do Not Rock.”

New Prime Research

prime station assault

The last big thing this month, there’s a brand new prime research, that will give you a huge damage boost when attacking stations.

Other Notes for this Month

  • Keep an eye out, as there’s a Piggy vs. Piggy event coming this month.
  • No changes to the Latinum Rush event just yet, but they’re coming.
  • Watch out for Dabo tables this month. These will be another way for you to earn Quark, Fess and Arrock shards.
  • No word about Dom-jot, and really sadly, no Tongo. We need Tongo, Scopely. Confront.
  • We’ll get one run for Para Bellum, and two for Jellyfish Brawl. These events will both be one day each.
