The Basics

Carol Marcus is an epic science officer in the Auxiliary Controls crew, and unlike the rest of that crew, she’s useful off the station. While in the prime universe, Carol Marcus was Kirk’s ex, the mother of David Marcus, and one of the scientists in the Genesis project; her Kelvin universe counterpart is a weapons specialist and the daughter of Admiral Alexander Marcus.

Carol Marcus shards can be obtained from Ultra Recruiting chests, 30-day loyalty chests, and transporter patterns.

Captain’s Ability

Applied Science – When defending in battle against a player, Carol decreases the Weapon Damage from opponents by 40%.

Carol’s captain’s ability is defensive, which means she’ll be great defending – and doubly so on a Saladin, Centurion, or Bortas with their defensive abilities. So if you can bait a larger ship into attacking you on any of those ships, you’re going to give your attacker quite a surprise. Pair this with some of the anti-faction officers (like Krell, Yuki Sulu, or Mirek) tailored to your opponent for more effect.

Officer Ability

Weapons Expert – Carol increases the Weapon Damage by (20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%)

This damage ability makes her a favorite for Armada crews. Paired with Kirk and Spock for their defense, Carol can give you quite a counterpunch. She’s also a great below decks officer with any officer whos ability requires health. You might also want to try pairing her with Decius for an increasing damage amount, or your Augment base-cracking crew.

She’s a great 3rd officer with just about any crew you can think of, with the possible exception of hostile crews with Pike.

She is definitely an officer worth spending officer badges on.
