Elea Makinen is an uncommon science officer in the Surveyors and Miners crew in Star Trek Fleet Command. She’s a Section 31 officer, so she’ll require Federation credits to fully upgrade.

Captain’s Maneuver

Advanced Mining – Elea Makinen increases the mining speed of the ship by 10%

For those of you who don’t have the Borg Tribble, but are still looking to improve your mining speed, she’s a good choice. With synergy, you can get your base mining speed up to a 50% bonus. And this is for everything, materials, resources, latinum, data, and Isogen.

Officer Ability

Isogen Mining – Elea Makinen increases the rate of Isogen Mining by (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%.)

You wanted another officer to increase Isogen mining speed, you got one. She’ll increase your Isogen mining speed, and even more so when you combine her with Airiam with either synergy, or Ten of Ten.

Elea Makinen Trivia

As with Raphael DuPont, I looked everywhere for anything to do with an Elea Makinen in Trek. If you’ve got something from the comic books about her, please let me know.

Other than a couple of Facebook profiles, I found nothing.

The best I can do is Pete Mackanin. He was a light-hitting second baseman for the Rangers, Expos, Phillies and Twins in the 70s. He was a career .226 hitter. He later was a Major League manager with the Pirates, Reds, and Phillies, winning just 44% of the games he managed, and never reaching the playoffs.

Here’s Mackanin getting thrown out of a game for arguing a check swing. It’s sleep-inducing, I’m well aware.

However… his bench coach for that game was Larry Bowa, and Bowa is an all-time great tantrum-thrower. I couldn’t find any videos of his classic tantrums when he was the Phillies manager in the mid-200s, but this one (different game from the one above, by the way,) should give you a little taste.

Best I could do. I’m really sorry.
